Can I see the route?
How do we find our way?
On the day each runner will receive the Madhattan Route Guide which will help you navigate the route, but you'll need to pay particular attention on some of the trickier parts in the north of the island.
Where is the Start / Finish line?
The run starts in Tribeca at the end of Harrison Street on the West Side Highway. Runners head anti-clockwise around the circumference of Manhattan and the official finish is at Madhattan Run HQ ARC Athletics.
How long will it take?
If you run at a nice steady pace the whole way you should complete the route it in under 7 hours. In 2012 the fastest runner completed it in 4.5 hours and the final runner came in at 9 hours. Remember it isn't a race, we highly recommend to cruise along and enjoy it.
Is the run timed?
There is no high-tech timing for the Madhattan, but everyone is timed using a trusty timer and you will be given your time upon completion
Do I have to run the whole route?
Yes. What are you? But seriously, you can stop along the route for nutrition and hydration but even if it is a very slow pace we want you to run. It isn't called the Madhattan Run for no reason!
What should I bring while running?
It is essential that you carry water, energy bars, layered clothing, mobile phone with link to map of the route plus the route guide.
Will there be food and water on the course?
There won't be dedicated water stops or food stops. Each runner is responsible for their own nutrition while out on the course. That being said it is Manhattan so there will be numerous places to get food or water on the course. You can even stops for a slice of pizza if you want to.
Where and when is registration?
Registration opens at ARC Athletics studio at 6.30am, no earlier. Ensure you register before 7:30am or you may miss out.
What time does race start?
The race start is at 8am sharp. We will leave ARC Athletics studio for the starting line at 7.45am.
What is the maximum time?
The maximum time is 9 hours to complete the course. If you think you'll take longer you may want to reconsider running the Madhattan.
What should I wear?
As it is late Fall it is wise to layer up. If a wet day a waterproof running jacket is essential. We also recommend that you wear a small running pack with a water bladder and pocket for you to carry some nutrition.
Can I store my gear securely?
Yes you can. ARC Athletics studio is the Madhattan base. Your personal items will be stored here securely during the race.
Can I shower and change after the race?
Yes, you will be able to change and shower at ARC Athletics studio after you finish. Please make your shower quick and you will need to bring your own towel.
Where is the after party?
Tribeca Taphouse @ 363 Greenwich Street near the corner of Franklin Street. You can safely tell your friends to meet you there from 4pm but you can start much earlier. There will also be food and beer waiting for all finishers at ARC Athletics studio which is the Madhattan basecamp.
